Many divers would not think of diving without carrying a Delayed Surface Marker Buoy (DSMB), and in some places it is considered necessary safety equipment. Knowing how to properly apply a DSMB are valuable skills learned in this course.

You must be a PADI Open Water Diver who is at least 12 years old to enroll in the DSMB Diver course.
Marker buoys serve a number of purposes and you will learn about common types of DSMB along with the wheels used to control them. During the two training dives you train:
- Preparing and storing your DSMB and roll.
- Implementation of DSMB from a stationary position and from the middle of the water.
- Swimming while pulling a DSMB and controlling the reel and line.
- Perform a safety stop using the DSMB line.
